Meet the Principal
Dr. Charlotte Thomas
Welcome back to McCoy Cowboys!
I am excited about the new school year and confident that our students will achieve great success with everyone's support. As a Dallas native and long-time resident of Carrollton, I attended Texas Women's University where I earned my BFA and MA in Fine Arts, along with my teaching certification. I taught art at L.F. Blanton for ten years after teaching for two years in Houston.
In 2003, I earned my principal certification from UT Arlington and became the assistant principal, splitting my time between Rainwater and Country Place. I continued to develop my administrative skills at Katherine McWhorter and Tom Landry before returning to Rainwater as the principal in 2009. Then in 2018, I achieved my Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University.
As educators and parents, our collaboration is essential in the growth and development of our students. Establishing solid and lasting relationships from the beginning of the school year will inspire our students to take risks, participate actively in their learning, pursue their dreams, think critically, and develop the confidence needed to reach their goals.
