Welcome Back McCoy Cowboys,

I am so excited to welcome each and every one back for the 21-21 school year. I’m anticipating enormous success for our students as they return to in-person school.

As Dallas native, I received my BFA and MA of Fine Arts in Jewelry Design/Metalsmithing from Texas Women’s University. I later earned my teaching certification from UT Arlington and taught in the Houston area for two years. After returning to Dallas, I joined the CFB family and taught art for 10 years at L. F. Blanton Elementary.

Moving forward on my career path, in 2003 I became an assistant principal where I divided my time between Rainwater and Country Place. I continued to hone my administrative skills at Katherine McWhorter and Tom Landry. In 2009, I returned to Rainwater Elementary as the principal. I continued my learning at Northcentral University and earned my Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership in 2018.

We all play an important part in the development of our students. We must forge strong lasting relationships from the start of the school year in order to get our students to take risks and become stakeholders in their learning. Our students will be challenged to persevere with their dreams and reach for their goals using skills that will allow them to think critically and confidently.
