Timothy Mitchell, Assistant Principal of McCoy Elementary

Timothy Mitchell has been an AP for 6 years. He started his educational career in Desoto ISD as a 5th grade teacher for three years . He transitioned to CFBISD in 2012 spending two years as a 5th grade teacher at Tom Landry Elementary. After spending two years in CFBISD as a teacher, he was encouraged to pursue administration. He began attending Stephen F. Austin State University to attain his master's degree in Educational Leadership. By his third year in the district, he was named as one of the assistant principals at Perry Middle School. After two years at Perry, he returned home to Tom Landry to continue the work of assistant principal for 3 more years. His present placement is a split between Rosemeade Elementary and McWhorter Elementary. He is very honored to join the team at McCoy Elementary for the 2020 - 2021 school year.

Timothy has been married for 17 years to his beautiful wife Tiffany and they have three amazing children Kaalyn (16 years old), Ty (13 years old) and Matthew (11 years old). He loves spending time with his family, teaching, reflecting, mentoring, writing, singing, playing instruments and  watching Netflix.

Timothy is excited about moving the work forward at McCoy Elementary through supporting Ms. Rink, the students, parents, staff and the community wholeheartedly. He loves the quote that says people don't care how much you know until they first know how much you care. He is elated to join the McCoy family and help create positive growth in the lives of every student.
